little slice of heaven

The campground that we just left near Poulson, Montana wasn't necessarily the nicest we've been to, not by a long shot. Most of the RV spots were literally nose-to-tail. Most of the 5th wheels and travel trailers unhitched and put their tow vehicle in sideways so they'd fit. And the spots were right off the driving path with nothing, not even space, between the road and the rigs. But I guess that's better than super tight side by side, where you can look thru your neighbors' RV into the next (yes, we saw that at a different campground nearby - that one was a parking lot)... but still... it's nice to have some space, some breathing room. Especially at a state park, which it was.

Anyway, the night we got there, we didn't get a nose-to-tail spot on the bottom tier, meaning lake level. We got a spot on the top tier, so not lakefront. We walked around the campground that night, looking at tags to see who was leaving the next day. So then that next morning we got ready for our bike ride, but kept watching to see who would leave first. Lo and behold, the RV that was in the BEST spot left. So we quickly hustled down and grabbed it.

Check it out!! NOT nose-to-tail. At the end so only one RV nearby, and lots of space between us and them. And lakefront of course. You can see our camp chairs by the fire ring in the bottom right corner of the first picture - every evening we enjoyed a fire while looking out over the lake. WOOHOO!
