queen for a day

yes I was… I was the Magnolia Queen of the Mardi Gras ball – our bike club’s murder mystery this year. I was also the Debutante of the Year. Imagine that! roflmao (rolling on floor, laughing my a** off)

The event was fun. I enjoyed my role this year much more than last. I was a high class society snob this year – fun to play, and Greg was my fiancĂ© - not much of a stretch there. It was fun having long black hair, lots of jewel bling, etc. btw – if you ever need to darken your eyebrows without thickening/clumping – use the mascara that is used with fake eyelashes, look by them. – it ROCKED!

The only problem I’m having is that folks remember me from the first year we had the murder mystery fundraiser – the year I played the town tramp. So they keep looking at me, thinking I’m playing a tramp again. That made it tough for me to try to play a snobby rich girl who is excited about being engaged and totally in love with her fiancĂ©, while at the same time distraught about her daddy being murdered. I was trying to walk the line of being bubbly and friendly with the “darlin’s” yet not trampy at all.

Something else that was cool – folks vote on who they think “did it.” Well, I was tied with the actual murderer for the number of votes received. Woohoo!!

Also fun – I met a friend, Carrie, afterwards for a few drinks. At first I thought I’d go out in the wig, then I decided against it cuz I thought it looked pretty bad. But folks in the club thought it looked all right, so I went out with long black hair; I did put on a black tee and jeans at least! I thought the wig looked totally obviously fake. BUT…. A girl who sat next to Carrie and I, whom we talked to quite a bit, thought it was real, so I’m sure most/all other folks there did too. I looked a little Elvira’ish to me, and I did get a couple odd looks, but nothing major. So that was fun fun fun for me. Kinda going incognito.

oh my

time flies. Our bike club murder mystery event is 36 hours away now. I found a dress for me at Goodwill tonite, as well as some great waders (boots) for G. My dress isn't quite what I wanted, but for $5 - it'll do! I went to THREE different Goodwill stores. Maybe I'll goto one more tomorrow, just to see what they have, maybe the "right" thing will be hiding there! I have a wig and a tiara too, compliments of coworker Amanda. yay!

Last weekend was great fun. I had a bunch of the Outlaws (my scrappin' buds) over Sat. A couple stayed over until Sun, but bailed early for a long drive home. I didn't get as much scrappin' done as I wanted to. lol That seems to always be the case! But I did get my charms done. You see... some of us Outlaws are making charms to exchange, so that we have Outlaw charm bracelets. I'll post a picture of my charms in a few days, as well as photos from G's and my trip out east.
