We did a route that was supposed to be scenic in central CO. Hmm.... well, occasionally it happens that others' opinions on "scenic" don't match ours. This was one of those days. But one thing made it kinda worthwhile...
who gets the gold today? - who can name that tune (and musical group for bonus points)?
On our return trip, I was all settled back, expecting blah scenery again/still, but to my surprise we actually did drive thru a neat little area!

The song is "Up On Cripple Creek" by "The Band" and it was popular when we were children. Google says 1970 but I remember it from around 75 or 76 in the little resort bars in Northern WI.
