New Mexico farewell tour

So can I say we left the best for last in New Mexico? hmm... not sure about that. So much of northern New Mexico is awesome! However, on Wednesday, we drove a loop from our campground over to the Taos area, and did the Enchanted Circle there. Love the name, haha.

This picture shows Echo Amphitheater - it was naturally formed, and has great sound, etc. Kinda cool. And by now you know me... love the rock thing.

Now, as I said, I'm not sure that we left the best of New Mexico for last, but I can truly say that we left the coldest for last. In fact, we were talking with a guy (at the Amphitheater) about where we were going, and he asked "is that road open yet?" Hmmm... should have been our first clue! LOL Yes, the road was open, but it was 43 degrees. Wind chill on the back of a bike going 40-60 mph? - who knows! Love that heated jacket!! There was still snow 3.5 - 4 feet deep in areas. But the road was clear and the scenery was great.

Later when we were circling Taos (a well known ski area), we frequently saw snow capped mountains. It was kinda cool - do some twisties, turn a corner, and voila, there the big mountains were again. Fun!!

We stopped briefly at Taos Pueblo - I just HAD to get ANOTHER Indian fry bread - love that stuff! Although it ended up not being my last, as I had feared... ;-)

Was that snow in the picture, or was it more of that great "white sand"? I'm guessing snow this time. :)

What beautiful scenery. You are so fortunate to be able to tour this way. Are you headed toward the Grand Canyon?
