Arizona ridin'

Another beautiful day, another wonderful ride. Gosh, life sux. LOL

Sunday we went through Winslow, Arizona. Can anyone "Name that Tune" about Winslow? The photo gives another clue.

We rode by a really long lake, easily 20 miles long - Theodore Roosevelt Lake. Wow - it's amazing how much you begin to miss lakes and rivers down here in the southwest. It's so dry all the time. So while driving by that huge lake, I could totally smell the water and moist dirt. I've always loved that smell - reminds me of spring.

We saw a lot of saguaro cacti en route (above photo, left side) - haven't seen those since the last time we were here in Arizona, I believe it was before we were even married! Some cacti produce absolutely stunning flowers - love these yellow ones.

I think these little trees are cool. I am wondering if they're Joshua Trees. Maybe I'll find out for sure if we manage to get to Joshua Tree National Monument in California.

I just love how you can see the road winding its way down and then back up into the mountains. Northern Arizona really has some great mountains - it got COLD up there!!

Later we rode through Salt Canyons. Wow! That was cool! I think this photo does pretty good justice to it - we could see the road we were going to be taking down into the canyon and then back up out of it. omg, amazing...
