We ended up not leaving Milwaukee area until 8:30 PM Wed night, so we barely made it to Iowa before pulling over for sleep. We stopped at the World's Largest Truck Stop. How exciting... (can you hear the sarcasm?!)
Thur we drove across Iowa and most of Nebraska. OMG, what boring roads. But great for me to learn to drive the RV on. It's such a huge beast of a rig! It's so wide that there really isn't much lane space on either side of the vehicle. We weren't in a hurry so we stopped at the Danish Windmill in some tiny town in Iowa. Not too exciting to say the least. Then we drove a short distance on a "scenic route." Bwahahahaha too funny. We got right back on the interstate.
One cool thing - somewhere in Nebraska we saw tons of birds migrating - wave after wave after wave, for miles. Another night at a truck stop - hmm... this isn't what I had in mind when we talked about camping. LOL
We pulled into Denver Fri early afternoon. We had a great dinner with Greg's bro Tim, their aunt Nancy, her daughter Katie and Katie's boyfriend Jason. We're staying nights at Tim's while we're here, which is great... it's still too cold to put water in our RV tanks, as they might freeze. And no water means no running water for toilets or showers.
Sat we spent pretty the entire afternoon and evening with Tim and our friends Dave and Judy, who recently moved out here from the Milwaukee area. We did a little sightseeing and lots of chatting - fun!
We're here for one more day then we're headed to Texas!
